Verify that you are properly syncing the board to your console. Please check the following page for the instructions on how to properly sync the board to your console.

Try syncing the board to the wireless receiver dongle while the game is running.

Try plugging the wireless receiver dongle into another USB port.

Try changing the batteries in the board.

It's possible that walls, people, or other entities are triggering the IR sensors on the sides of the board. To prevent this issue, make sure that there are four feet of free space on all sides whenever playing and that there are no large metal objects nearby. Return to the main menu and select "Options", then select "Calibrate Board" and follow the onscreen instructions. Make sure to follow the steps exactly and hold the board in the calibrating positions for the amount of the time the video that is play is telling you.

During the initial IR sensor calibration process ensure that you are standing away from the board and that you are motionless. When it is time to calibrate each individual IR sensor you will then be asked to stand on the board and will be shown some positions on the board to hold. Ensure that your entire foot is covering the lens of the particular IR sensor you are instructed to cover. Also ensure the board is facing the right direction. The buttons on the board should be on the left side of the board. Cover the whole sensor for the full count. Tony Hawk will say "Got it" when the timer is finishing. Continue to hold that board position until the button prompt to continue appears. Stepping off of the board before that will cause an error even after Tony Hawk says "Got it". You do not need to press a button to continue to move on to the next step. The calibration video will move on to the next step on its own.

If you still have issues with the calibration then try lowering the lights in the room. Sometimes bright lights can interfere with the IR sensors.

You should connect the Tony Hawk: RIDE dongle to a USB port in the back of the Wii. Once connected, press the button on the dongle; it will begin flashing. Now press and hold the power button on the skateboard controller until it syncs with the dongle.

Try the following:

Make sure that the batteries are inserted properly. Check that the positive and negative poles of the batteries are in the correct position.
Make sure that the battery cover is securely fastened to the board. The battery cover should be fully screwed into the board.
Try putting in a fresh set of batteries.

The board takes 15 minutes of inactivity to go into sleep mode. If the console is in standby mode then the board will not turn off as it will still be synced to the console. Please make sure that you completely turn off the console and remove the wirless dongle to insure that the board turns off. Do not move the board or press any buttons on the board while waiting for it to turn off.

"Plug in the USB dongle into one of the front USB ports of the PS3. The little red little light on the dongle will blink slowly.

Press the PS Home button (located on the side of the skateboard) until the 4 lights start blinking (indicating the board is turned on).

Press the little button that is on the front of the dongle until it starts blinking rapidly.

While the little light is blinking on the dongle, press and hold the PS Home button again (located on the side of the skateboard) until it syncs up with the dongle. You can tell this happens when one of the 4 little lights on the side of the skateboard stay lit and the little light on the dongle stops blinking and stays solid.

First press the Xbox Guide Button (located on the side of the skateboard) until it lights up and starts blinking. Then press the Sync button on the Xbox console so that the front lights start blinking. Now push the sync button on the skateboard (little button that is to the left of the Back button) until it starts flashing. Both the board lights and the console lights will blink twice when they are synced.
